Waves of disinformation in the hybrid Russian-Ukrainian war

This article presents research results into waves of disinformation — massive torrents false information directed at various audiences during the Russian-Ukrainian war in May July 2022, intending to elicit specific communication effects (manipulation, misleading, intimidation, demoralization, etc.). It was found that are characterized by narrative and intensity. Based on Telegram statistics “Perevirka” bot (“Check”) developed Gwara Media organization, we formed a sample most resonant messages (298 units), which were subject informal (traditional) document analysis, as well classification, narrative, comparative analysis. We identified 24 primary disinformation, among powerful following: 1) “The Armed Forces Ukraine those who back them criminals”; 2) “Ukraine will lose war”; 3) West does not need state”; 4) is country chaos extremists.” The recorded testify aggressiveness multi-directionality Russian rhetoric, encourages development productive system countermeasures world media literacy population. analysis provided recommendations for audience dealing with actual potential propaganda messages.
